A delegation from Air Ghana has met with Transport Minister Joseph Bukari Nikpe to present plans aimed at strengthening cargo operations, including the acquisition of a Boeing 737-400 freighter to boost trade across West Africa.

A delegation from Air Ghana has paid a courtesy call on the Ministry of Transport to brief the sector minister, Joseph Bukari Nikpe, on the company’s latest operational developments.
The team, led by Chief Executive Officer Karim Traboulsi, highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen cargo connectivity within Ghana and across the West African sub-region. Central to these efforts is the acquisition of a dedicated Boeing 737-400 freighter, expected to significantly enhance logistics and trade efficiency.

According to the delegation, the aircraft—scheduled to arrive in Ghana on May 5, 2026—will help reduce transit delays, lower the cost of cargo transportation, and meet the growing demands of emerging markets in the region.
The move is also expected to position Ghana as a strategic cargo hub in West Africa, supporting regional trade integration and improving supply chain reliability.

Officials at the Ministry of Transport welcomed the initiative, noting that such investments align with government efforts to modernize the aviation sector and facilitate economic growth through improved logistics infrastructure.
