Saboba and its environs, residents and local businesses are grappling with recent power outage. The absence of power supply has a made life impossible for people especially on tasks such as grinding food stuffs and charging their electrical appliances.
One major issue that affects the locals is lack of access to grinding machines where they can grind various food items. Since most homes use electric grinders to process grains and other food ingredients, this power cut has compelled many of them to go to the market centre in search for alternative methods in grinding their food. Not only has it been an inconvenience for the residents but has also tired their pockets plus their time.
The impact of the blackout does not only extend to households alone. Also badly hit are local businesses that rely on electricity for operation. From small shops to restaurants, service disruptions, drop in revenue and pressure on the existing resources have all occurred due to lack of electricity.
Additionally, vital facilities like schools and hospitals were negatively affected by blackout. These institutions had no other option apart from using backup generators which do not always meet their requirements fully when there is no reliable supply of electricity. This put at risk quality, it has been days which graduated to weeks so the people are calling on VRA officers at saboba to try their possible best to bring back lights and also make sure it stable.
