The youth of Saboba held a meeting with the VRA (Volta River Authority) Manager at his office this morning to address the frequent power outages plaguing their community. During the meeting, the VRA Manager explained that he and his team have been struggling with bats, which often cause these power disruptions.

The youth found the situation both surprising and amusing, bursting into laughter upon hearing the manager’s explanation. However, they quickly turned serious, emphasizing the urgency of resolving the issue.

In their discussion, the youth representatives conveyed their frustration and the negative impact of the frequent power outages on their daily lives and local economy. They noted that businesses, schools, and households have all been adversely affected, leading to growing dissatisfaction and impatience within the community.

The VRA Manager assured the youth that his team was committed to finding a solution and that they were already implementing measures to address the bat problem. However, the youth were adamant about seeing immediate results and set a firm deadline.

They gave the manager one week to “defeat the bats” and fix the power outage issue by the close of Thursday, July 18, 2024. They warned that failure to meet this deadline would result in more drastic actions.

“If the power outages are not resolved by next Thursday, we will assume that the VRA Manager is incapable of performing his duties. Our next move will be to lock up his office and chase him out of Saboba,” a youth spokesperson declared.

The ultimatum underscores the community’s exasperation and determination to see tangible improvements in their electricity supply. As the deadline approaches, all eyes will be on the VRA Manager and his team’s efforts to address the root cause of the frequent outages and restore reliable power to Saboba.
