The Tema Regional Police Command has secured a 15-year jail sentence each for two men involved in a robbery and rape case that occurred on September 27, 2025, at Okushibli, along the Apollonia–Afienya road.
Police investigations revealed that the 19-year-old victim, a hairdresser, had hired Nicholas Tetteh, a motorbike rider, to transport her to Afienya. During the trip, Tetteh allegedly conspired with another man, Joseph Tetteh, and a third accomplice to attack her.
The suspects reportedly dragged the young woman into a nearby bush, where she was sexually assaulted by two of the men and robbed of her iPhone XR and a handbag containing GH₵150.
The incident was reported to the Zenu–Atadeka District Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU). The victim was issued a medical report form and received treatment while investigations proceeded.
Following investigations, Nicholas Tetteh and Joseph Tetteh were arraigned before the Gbetsile Circuit Court, presided over by Her Ladyship Eleanor Kakra Barn Botchway. They pleaded guilty to the robbery charge and were each sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment with hard labour.

According to the police statement, the two convicts will also face separate charges for rape once advice is received from the Attorney-General’s Office.
The Tema Regional Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring justice and maintaining public safety, urging the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement to combat violent crime.
