The National Paralympic Committee of Ghana (NPC-Ghana) has blamed the Norwegian Embassy for a scandal involving individuals who falsely claimed to be part of the Ghana Paralympic Team.

NPC-Ghana stated that the Embassy did not properly verify the legitimacy of the applications before issuing visas to the individuals, who are now missing.

In their statement, NPC-Ghana clarified that these individuals are not associated with the official Ghana Paralympic Team. They also confirmed that they did not apply to the Norwegian Embassy for travel or sponsorship for any team to compete in Norway. The NPC-Ghana had no prior knowledge of the trip or competition and did not approve it as part of the preparations for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Despite this, the NPC-Ghana expressed their readiness to cooperate with security agencies in the investigation and emphasized their commitment to transparency in para-sports development.

The Committee assured the public that all individuals involved in this fraudulent activity will be identified and face legal consequences.
