Fiifi Kwetey Urges Unity to Overcome NPP's Mismanagement

Fiifi Kwetey has criticized the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia for significantly damaging Ghana. Speaking at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) campaign launch in Tamale on Saturday, July 27, he stressed the importance of Ghanaians uniting to rescue the country from the current administration. He warned that re-electing the NPP would signal approval of their mismanagement and corruption, potentially leading to an irredeemable economic crisis.

Kwetey urged all Ghanaians, including NPP supporters, to vote for the NDC and its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, to restore the country to its former glory.

The campaign launch featured key NDC figures such as John Dramani Mahama, his running mate Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia, General Secretary Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey, and members of the Council of Elders. NDC Members of Parliament, parliamentary candidates, and supporters also attended. National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia announced a shift in the party’s campaign strategy, focusing on door-to-door and personal engagement with voters.

“We want to reach out to the people, house-to-house campaign, retail campaign, that is where the emphasis is going to be. So, what we’re going to do in Tamale is to remind our people that this year, the campaign will be different. We must touch base with the people,” he said. He added that it is more cost-effective for party functionaries to engage with villagers directly rather than gathering them at central locations.

Additionally, the NDC plans to unveil its manifesto in August, which will include key policies such as establishing a 24-hour economy, abolishing ex-gratia, and exporting nurses to address unemployment among health workers.
