Party Members Will Regret Losing Power Within Six Months – Fancy De Maria Warns
Sports journalist at Wontumi TV, Fancy De Maria, has outlined key elements of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s vision for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the country if he secures victory in the upcoming general elections.
Speaking on Wontumi TV’s morning show, Fancy emphasized Dr. Bawumia’s determination to decentralize national development in order to empower the party’s grassroots.
“One of his priorities is to introduce a constituency-based budgetary allocation system rather than a centralized one. This will enable party members to tackle the specific needs of their communities directly,” he explained.
He also issued a stern caution to party supporters, urging unity and hard work to sustain political power.
“If party members fail to hold on to power, they will regret it within six months,” he warned.
Fancy further disclosed that Dr. Bawumia intends to establish what he called a “welfare table” to support party faithful with access to jobs, scholarships, security services, and other essential opportunities.
Highlighting the Vice President’s reputation as a champion of digital innovation, Fancy described Bawumia’s digital agenda as transformative.
“Bawumia is a data-driven leader. He studied digitalization in Estonia, which inspired initiatives like the GH₵4.5 million Mobile Money Interoperability system. This allows people to make payments directly from their bank accounts while at work, saving time and boosting efficiency,” he noted.
With his grassroots-centered development strategy and technology-driven leadership, Fancy argued that Dr. Bawumia’s presidency could usher in a new phase of growth for both the NPP and the nation.
