Court Remands Two Men for Mutilation of Deceased and Gun Possession
On Tuesday, at the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, Adekunle Fatai, 40, and Sabitu Kolapo, 33, were remanded in custody. The charges against them include mutilating a deceased woman’s body and unlawful possession of a firearm.
- Charges: The suspects are accused of conspiracy, interference with a corpse, and illegal firearm possession.
- Incident Details: Prosecutor Insp. Elisha Tellang reported that on July 13, at approximately 11:35 PM, the defendants allegedly exhumed the body of Mrs. Oyindamola Olosunde and severed her left breast at Gbedun village, Ibadan.
- Court Action: Magistrate M. Olagbenro chose not to hear the defendants’ pleas due to lack of jurisdiction and instructed the police to forward the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for further legal advice.
