Mohammed Kudus experienced a rollercoaster of emotions as West Ham United fell to a 4-1 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur. The Ghanaian midfielder opened the scoring for the Hammers but was later sent off in a dramatic turn of events.

Kudus gave West Ham the lead with a well-taken goal, finishing off a low cross from Jarrod Bowen with his weaker foot. This marked his second consecutive goal in the Premier League, following his strike in the previous match.

However, Tottenham responded quickly, with Dejan Kulusevski leveling the game in the 36th minute, assisted by James Maddison. The two sides went into halftime tied at 1-1.

The second half saw Tottenham take control, as Yves Bissouma netted a second for the hosts after being set up by Destiny Udogie. An unfortunate own goal by West Ham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola extended Tottenham’s lead, and Heung-min Son, returning from injury, added a fourth in the 60th minute.

West Ham’s hopes of a comeback were further dashed when Kudus was shown a red card in the 86th minute for violent conduct. His sending off means he will miss crucial upcoming fixtures against Manchester United, Nottingham Forest, and Everton.

Despite his early heroics, Kudus’ dismissal capped off a difficult day for West Ham, who remain winless in their last few outings.
