Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged the Electoral Commission (EC) to ensure the people’s choices are respected and not manipulated. He warned that any attempt to tamper with election results could have serious consequences.
In an interview with JoySports’ Atsu Tamakloe, he stated, “Any tricks by the Electoral Commission to change the results will lead this country into serious disaster. Young people should stay alert to ensure this doesn’t happen because they will be the ones to suffer.”
He also expressed doubts about the NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his running mate Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh’s ability to win in the December election. Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe said, “I don’t believe that ticket can win a genuine election in this country.”
He suggested that Dr. Bawumia didn’t choose his running mate himself, which he believes will cause problems. “I predicted that Bawumia wouldn’t have a free hand in picking his running mate, and that’s exactly what happened. Why should Bawumia not be allowed to pick his own running mate? Whether they work well together should be his concern.”
Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe also criticized MPs for considering legislation that would allow them to use sirens and drive without speed limits, calling it a troubling issue.
